R&B Singer Jewels To Perform In Greensboro On Friday Night

UNC Greensboro Alum Returns to the Triad for Makeup Battle Live

Girl Power will be on full display when R&B singer “Jewels” takes the stage at the Van Dyke Performance Space Friday night. Best known for anthem hits like “HipTok” and “Inspired By Me”, the Carolina Music Awards Nominee (R&B Female) will headline music performances that include fellow CMA Nominee Rashaad King (R&B Male).

She will be performing songs from her current project (‘My Obsession’) and tickets are on sale at Eventbrite.

What is Makeup Battle?

Makeup Battle is an art competition for makeup artists. The fashion show combines cosplay themes with makeup artistry and is unique because the artists also design the costumes. The event will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 within the Cultural Arts Center building in Downtown Greensboro, NC. Most of the artists and runway models have ties to Triad area colleges and the winning makeup artist will receive a $500 grand prize.

Fresh off of directing her first feature film “Coma Couch” (IMDB), film director Nachela Knox was selected by Picture Studios as showrunner for the live event. 2022 Miss Petite USA Winner Deborah Missy Scott was tabbed as host for the fashion show alongside AfterBuzz TV Host Meagan Lynn for the awards presentation.

Robin Angelique was the final makeup artist to qualify after three rounds of competition.

As a former Theatre major with a concentration in costuming, make up has always been a huge part of my life. I have cosplayed for over 15 years, and I love self-expression within this medium.
