One On One With Social Media Princess Varonica Mitchell
Meet Varonica Mitchell, a rising star from Henderson, NC. In this interview, she shares insights about her life, her family’s creative journey on TikTok, and her role on Oak Med. From dancing for God to making people laugh on The VV Show, Varonica’s energy and faith continue to inspire her growing audience.
What is your full name and which city are you from?
Varonica: My name is Varonica Mitchell, and I’m from Henderson, North Carolina.
What do you like most about living in North Carolina?
Well, I live near the country, so it’s really peaceful. I visit my grandma sometimes, and it’s peaceful there too. It’s just calm, and that’s where I grew up.
Who is the best-dressed member of your family?
Varonica: My mother, of course.
INM: No hesitation, huh?
Varonica: Yeah, she dresses me.
INM: Oh, okay.
Varonica: Props to mom.
Who has the worst morning breath in your family?
Varonica: Oh, my dog.
INM: Haha. That makes sense. Good answer!
Tell us about the Mitchell Family Empire on TikTok.
We call it the Mitchell Family Empire because our last name is Mitchell, and we all have different gifts that God has given us. So, we put our family name on TikTok as the Mitchell Family Empire. My mom and dad record my sister when she tutors, I do my videos, my dad dances, my mom dances, and she preaches as well. We share clips to show what the Mitchell Family Empire is all about.
INM: I love it. It’s great to have a big sister who can do it too, right?
Varonica: Yes.
Why do you think people enjoy The VV Show show on Instagram?
Varonica: Well, the point of the The VV Show is to make people smile and laugh because the Bible says laughter is like medicine. If someone’s having a bad day, they can just scroll past my video, and it might make their day better. I feel like people look at my video and enjoy it and seeing all the good comments encourages me to keep going.
INM: Your doing a great job on the show.
Varonica: Thank you.
What do you like better, acting or dancing?
Varonica: Ooh, good question! That’s hard because those are my top two, but I’d say dancing because I’ve been dancing since I came out of the womb. I get to dance for God because I do gospel dance, liturgical dancing, and hip-hop too. But mostly, I get to dance for God, and that’s the whole point. I love dancing. My whole family dances.
INM: Everybody dances?
Varonica: Yeah, everybody dances.
INM: That’s the best when everybody can’t get into it. It just makes you feel good.
INM: Right. Yeah!
If Mr. Eggnog was here right now, what would he say?
Varonica: He’d say, “All the kids in school need to listen and pay attention before I come up there and whoop some behind!”
INM: Love it. You went right into it.
Varonica: Yes!
INM: You were ready!
Halloween is coming up. How does your family celebrate?
Most of the time, we just chill in the house, maybe watch a scary movie or two, and pray. My family, we don’t celebrate Halloween, so we might have a “Holy Ghost” party instead. We go to church, give out candy, play games, and that’s probably what we’ll do again this year.
Do you Think Home Alone 2 is better than the first one?
Varonica: Funny question because I actually haven’t watched Home Alone one or two, sadly. But I’ve heard about it.
Tell me about one of your favorite movies or the last movie you watched.
Varonica: The last movie I watched was a scary movie, Final Destination, with my sister. Every time we see a big truck with logs on the back, I close my eyes and think, “Oh no, we watched Final Destination!”
INM: That’s a tricky movie. Things can happen.
Varonica: Right, birds coming down!
INM: Survival mode. I get it.
What do you think of the characters on Oak Med?
I love my character because she’s very smart but funny at the same time. It’s basically me! I love it because I get to be myself. The character’s name is Varonica; she’s funny and smart, always looking at the camera and smiling. I love the character, I really do.
Tell us about your scene with Jiwan on Oak Med.
Varonica: It was funny because I kept cutting the person off, looking at the camera, smiling—it was really funny. When I read it, my dad and I were laughing because it was something I would do when I’m having a conversation with my sister.
INM: I love it. Well, that’s your last question. You did a great job.
Varonica: Thank you.
INM: Is there anything you want to say? Anything coming up you want to share?
Varonica: One thing I want to say is to follow your passion, keep God first always, and listen to what He says. Whatever He wants you to do, just do it, and don’t let anyone bring you down. And, I’m talking with two major companies—can’t say much, but be on the lookout. That’s all I have to say!
