Highlights From The Triad Anime Convention (2022)

Anime fans and cosplayers descended upon the Triad area for one of the largest conventions in North Carolina. Known as the Triad Anime Convention (Triad Anime Con for short), the event was held at the Benton Convention Center in Downtown Winston-Salem. Amanda Miller (voice of Boruto, Jo on Kid Cosmic, and Sailor Jupiter) was a celebrity guest and panelist for the 2022 event. Be sure to check out her Q&A interview with Inside Monthly.

Conventions like Triad Anime Con are a unique way for fans to show their appreciation for popular comics, games, movies and shows. Although the concerts, DJs, live performances and celebrity guests are a major draw, the cosplayers are always the life of the party.

Connecting with friends and making new ones is also a unique feature of events like Triad Anime Con. In the photo below, a few gamers linked up at the Arcade and Videogame Room on Friday night (March 18th) for a Mario Kart 8 tournament on the Wii 2 console.

What I like most about cosplayers is just the passion of loving a character so much that you want to design a character of your own. The creativity is really inspiring, especially when they add a different flavor and put their own spin on it.
